Planning your squash court lighting upgrade

Planning your squash court lighting upgrade

A successful lighting upgrade starts before the fixtures arrive. A little preparation helps your club choose a suitable layout and organise installation around court bookings.

Record the existing installation

Collect court dimensions, ceiling height, photographs, existing fixture positions and details of the mounting system. Note any shadows, glare or uneven areas players have reported. Have a qualified installer assess the electrical supply and condition of the installation.

Explain how the courts are used

Tell us whether your courts support recreational play, coaching or higher-level competition. Nine lights per court are our usual starting point for most squash projects; twelve are generally recommended for higher-level competition. The layout must still be checked for the particular court and relevant requirements.

Separate products from installation

Global LED Lights supplies the fixtures. Lighting planning and installation can be discussed separately with Global Squash. Confirm the scope in writing, including access equipment, removal of old fittings, electrical work and disposal where applicable.

Allow time for dispatch and delivery

Our current estimated dispatch time for squash fixtures is two to three weeks after ordering and payment, with carrier transit time additional. Confirm availability before committing to an installation date. Delivery estimates are not guaranteed installation dates.

Check the handover

Before reopening courts, arrange for the installer to check the completed installation and document any measurements or inspections included in the agreed scope. Keep your order details, product documentation and installation records for future maintenance and warranty enquiries.
