Padel court lighting costs: fixtures, lux and running costs

PDL 230 padel court LED floodlight with two lighting modules and mounting bracket

A four-fixture padel lighting budget starts at €1,760 for PDL 230 or €2,320 for PDL 320, excluding VAT, transport and installation. Those figures cover the non-dimmable fixtures only. Your complete project price also depends on the supports, electrical work, controls and lighting design.

For a club comparing LED padel court lighting, the useful question is what the whole installation will deliver: suitable light levels, even coverage and a running cost you can plan around.

What does padel court lighting cost?

These fixture budgets use four lights per court, as shown in our example designs. Prices are a planning guide; check the product pages for current prices and request a project quotation before ordering.

Configuration Per fixture Four fixtures
PDL 230 non-dimmable €440 €1,760
PDL 230 0/10V €449 €1,796
PDL 230 DALI €465 €1,860
PDL 320 non-dimmable €580 €2,320
PDL 320 1/10V €589 €2,356
PDL 320 DALI €634 €2,536

All amounts exclude VAT, transport, installation and any separate control equipment. Padel shipping is quoted individually; the shipping brackets for our squash fixtures do not apply.

PDL 230 or PDL 320: which light level?

Our PDL 230 padel fixture has a supplied 350 lx example design using four 230 W fixtures. The PDL 320 padel fixture has a 500 lx example using four 320 W fixtures. Both examples use a 6.5 m mounting height.

These are calculated layouts, not a promise that four lamps achieve the same result on every site. Moving a pole, changing its height or altering the aiming can change the result. Ask for the average and minimum illuminance, uniformity and glare assessment for your actual court.

As a reference, the LTA’s 2025 padel guidance specifies 300 lux average with 0.5 uniformity for regional competition and recreational use, and 500 lux with 0.7 uniformity for national/international competition. This is UK guidance: confirm the requirements of your own federation, venue and competition before selecting a design. A product’s wattage alone does not establish compliance.

How much electricity will four padel lights use?

Four PDL 230 fixtures have a connected load of 0.92 kW; four PDL 320 fixtures total 1.28 kW. Multiply that by your annual lighting hours and electricity tariff.

Illustration: at 1,500 hours per year and €0.25/kWh, the PDL 230 arrangement uses 1,380 kWh, costing €345 per year. The PDL 320 arrangement uses 1,920 kWh, costing €480. This compares two different lighting designs, not equivalent light output or a guaranteed saving. Use your own tariff on a consistent VAT basis and allow separately for auxiliary equipment.

What should a complete quotation include?

  • A court-specific lighting layout and agreed performance target.
  • Checks on pole positions, mounting height, supports and brackets.
  • Electrical installation, cabling, access equipment and commissioning.
  • The chosen controls, their compatibility and any extra wiring.
  • Transport, delivery timing and the scope of the warranty.

Our downloadable technical datasheet describes the non-dimmable fixtures. If you choose a dimmable option, confirm the driver and control arrangement as part of the order.

Can you reuse existing padel light poles?

Possibly, but the supports must suit the fixture weight, bracket arrangement and site loads. PDL 230 weighs 6.7 kg and PDL 320 weighs 8.7 kg per fixture. Have the existing structure assessed rather than assuming that a similar-looking replacement will fit.
